I posted an update yesterday but I don't see it and I'm not very tech savvy. Anyway. Pic 1 is when I found her (thought was a he but it's a she) pic 2 is yesterday morning after bottle feeding and pic 3 is her (blue collar) snuggled with a bunch of kittens at the foster house. Meet

Wurli! Got her to latch and bottle feed the first day/night. Got her to go pee a bunch but no poop. Took her to the vet yesterday and they said it would be best for her if I handed her over to a foster for a few weeks. Wasn't thrilled with that but I

knew it was the best chance she had. Foster came by and picked her up yesterday afternoon. I'm gonna miss her but foster said as long as everything goes well I'll get her back in 3-4 weeks. Never expected all the love and advice and support from first post but from the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU! Y'all now have a hand in wurli's journey.

FeralHarmony You did the right thing!! She will learn so much by being with other kittens, which will make her far more suitable as your future companion. And now you have lots of time to prepare for her formal arrival.

You might want to consider also adopting one of the new littermates. Kittens are such high energy, demanding little. imps. Two kittens are always so much easier than one, because when you're tired or busy, they'll entertain each other.

I hope she thrives and please update when you get to welcome her home in a few weeks.

waychanger Pic 3 warms my heart. Looking forward to you getting her back in a month!

Distinct-Banana-7937 Babies!! You did the right thing! I saw your first post, and the pic broke my heart. It looked to me like she had given up hope. I swear these things happen to us on purpose, for specific people to find and save these kitties.

I took in a stray that showed up on the farm a few weeks ago. She was literally skin, fur, and bones. Last night, she chose to sleep with me all night for the first time!

Can't wait for your pics when you get your little fur ball back!

Saranightfire1 Giving a kitten to a foster is hard, but it's best.

A foster mama cat cares for adopted kittens like her own. Her instinct to care for them is really high right now and she'll happily accept another baby to care for while nursing her own.
  • 16
The foster had probably cared for a lot of these kittens and make sure she gets the care, socialization (vital for all kittens to grow up loving people), and handling she needs. The mom will care for her and her babies will teach her how to kitten and how to play. Just this alone will let her grow up to be a gentle, great cat.

And look on the bright side: now you have the time and resources to go and get everything she needs to be a spoiled kitten and cat when you get her when she's old enough.

Calgary_Calico What a wonderful update! I'm glad she's got some fostermates to grow up with. Thank you for saving her!

If she becomes especially bonded with any of them I'd highly recommend you adopt that kitten as well as her. Bonded kittens should stay together

mmmohhh You did the right thing! Foster can get her meds and doc visits, that would get expensive for you. Can't wait until you are reunited!

FeralSweater Can you visit Wurli in the next few weeks? She might benefit from getting to know you on her own turf.

Glittering_Role1658 She is lucky that you found her. Hopefully she will have a wonderful life thanks to you

IrishDeb55 What a great name. The days will go by quickly she'll be back full of energy ready to take on life

Swimming-Trifle-899 Great job taking care of this little one. You'll be best friends for life very soon. I have two rescue kitties — one was fostered and one was not. We found the unfostered kitty abandoned in an industrial

setting much like you. While they're both incredible kitties, my fostered girl is definitely better socialized, physically bigger and stronger, and less skittish and afraid. The advantages are clear. You've done the best thing for your new bestie!
